Curry Night

Today was great...I won't lie to you, it didn't start off great... I had soo much to do and soo little time to do it in. But one thing kept me going-the thought of a name on it.

Tonight was curry night with the guys from work. Fingers crossed we make it into a tradition because I had such an amazing time...I don't remember the last time I laughed soo much.

After work we all went from west to east so we can go to Brick Lane(for those that don't know its a whole street with nothing but restaurants, where you can find a good old curry to make your mouth water. In London if your craving a curry you go to the infamous Brick Lane.

There was 10 of us all together. Some went for vegetarian, some went for the really mild korma others adventured with a massala and bhurma. Luckily we got 20% off discount on the food and the drinks from the local off licence (and no I am not condoning drinking....but lets be honest you can't have a curry without a beer).

After we had our curry we found a nice little bar with seating outside and spent the rest of the night continuing our conversation and having a laugh. I spent the entire night with a massive smile on my face just enjoying the company and thinking how lucky I am that I found a job where the group of friends I've made are worth having around.

Overall I had a great night and cannot wait for the next time we have a proper night out...preferably on a Friday night or over the weekend so we don't have to worry about work the next day.

Work mates

I've never been the most sociable person and I have a very small circle of friends...So having a new job and seeing the same people everyday has been and nteresting turn if events.

I'm never the kind of person who makes plans to go out. I'm normally the person being dragged out. Strangely since my first day with all the new people who are in the same boat as me, all new and feeling like small fish in a big pond full of strangers we all bonded.

I started the ball rolling and now we have a big night out planned for Thursday after our training day. We're going out for a curry and we're already laughing about it since we've dared the guys to get the spiciest thing on the menu. I cannot wait to see the tears streaming down their faces.

A few of the girls from work have gone there and they seem to like it there. They say its quiet and the food good and not to mention you can bring your own wine.

This will be the the first time we have all been out at the same time since we started work together 6weeks ago. I can't wait.

It seems like im finally growing into myself and becoming a little social butterfly.

Carnival

This was my first Notting Hill Carnival....

There was lots of loud music constantly blaring out of the floats, there were loads of loud people everywhere you looked and an occassional burst of colour in the outfits of the dancers.

I must admit I was massively disappointed. I thought it would be alot nicer.

Well heres my picture from Notting hill Carnival 2012.

I miss...baking

Yesterday I was thinking about how lately my only hobby seems to be spending hours wathing films and I couldn't help but realise that...I miss baking.

During the gap between uni and finding a job I used to bake all the time...I'd have my headphones in and just rock out while I'm baking. I would make fluffy cupcakes, carrot cakes, chocolates covered fruits and genache.

Since work I'm soo tired all I can manage when I go home is to crash onto the sofa and switch on the telly.

Hopefully after a bit of internet surfing I can find a great recipe.

Tomorrow is Nottinghill Carnival...lots of bright coloured outfits, high spirits and a great time waiting to happen.

Keep tuned for some great pictures.

Going to the movies

Everyone says you should have a hobby. Something to do to keep you sane and to stop life being so mundane. Some people read, others knit, some bake and other go to the gym. My hobby is watching endless amounts of films....

I'm an absolute movie buff. I can walk into a room look at the screen and within a second tell you exactly what movie it is. I love sitting on the sofa and watch one film after another.

Films are a great way for me to escape and just be somewhere I've not been before. Watching movies has always been my hobby and I get the feeling that it will always play a role in my life.

I may still be finding my feet and trying to work out where I'm going in life but I know that movies will always be there in my life helping me along. Whether its a comedy that puts a smile on my face, a romance that renews my hope that love really does happen, or a world full of vampires and dragons where anything is possible of you just believe. I will always love going to the movies.

I'm back...

I've been gone for a while and don't remember the last time I updated my blog.......I'm back!!
Work has been rather tiring but now I'm slowly beginning to settle into my job.
I don't quite feel like I'm drowning anymore, which I must admit is a welcomed relief.

Constantly I'm working towards deadlines and there just aren't enough hours in the day to get things done. Working around all the clothes does make my day that little bit more bearable.

I'm in kidswear so I'm surrounded by boys clothes which is essentially miniature menswear which is kind of weird it feels like everything has shrunk, and I'm a giant.

The people at work are great. Everyone is so friendly and I get along with the guys the most. Sometimes we meet up for lunch and have a good old chit chat and sometimes we meet up after work too for a few drinks at the local pub.

Work is actually quite enjoyable...tiresome but fun.

I guess your all caught up so far....

My bank holiday weekend has started and I'm looking forward to Notting hill Carnival...will keep you updated on how it goes and hopefully upload a few pictures of Carnival on Monday
