I do not condone drinking, promote it or encourage others to do it. If it's something you to decide on your own, if you know your limits then your fine in my books.
Sometimes it's nice to just meet up with a friend, have a meal, have some wine with your food and have a chit chat and catch up.
That was the plan anyway...But since my saturday night plans were thwarted last minute I had this unresolved need to go out and have a good time.
So we both met up in Camden and had a look around the places which sort of fancied going to. I had a rough idea of the places I wanted to go to and in the end we decided on Gilgamesh. Quite a posh swanky place with wood carvings on all the walls, mahogany tables, large statues and pillar decorated in mosaic artistry.
The place looked great, the prices were pretty steep but my guess is you were paying for the atmosphere too.
After a few nibbles and a Gilgamesh cocktail we made our way to a club I've been to a few times. I must admit it was a bit funny because it happened to be a student night, which just made us laugh. We spent most of our night guessing how old the other people were and if they used fake IDs to get in. It was hilarious.
Overall a great night and was quite nice to have time with a friend just the two of us instead of the usual group situations we normally find ourselves in.

When people talked about a midlife crisis I never quite understood it. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm in my early twenties so I guess that means I'm having a quarterlife crisis... I'm trying to find my feet. I hope you'll follow me on my journey of self discovery...

Marley & Me
This is a great film. I've seen it before but it was nice to see it again. THe thing I like about this film is that it's so real. It's not a typical rom com where it's all fairy tales and moments that are timed perfectly. It's real life. It's what life is like, full of disappointments, difficulties and problems that make life real.
Great film that is worth watching. It has it's funny moments and sad ones that bring a tear to your eyes.

Cancel...everyone cancels
Cancel...Something I seem to be hearing alot lately. It's beginning to get rather frustrayting now. I'ce had to keep cancelling my plans to fit around everyone elses moods and it's really starting to bug me.
The plan was to go to a bar. One guy decides to cancel, leading the other to cancel because he doesn't want to be the only guy. So that just leaves two people. Then my friends decide to invite me to join them since the boys have cancelled we can have a girls night out. Only one problem, their going to a gay bar...Something I'm completely comfortable and quite looking forward to going to, but my lot aren't exactly comfortable with. SO now the plan has changed once again. I'm no longer going out to a bar like I originally wanted to do.Instead I have to compromuise and do what everyone else wants to do and go to a shisha garden instead.
This does seem like a rant...and to be honest it is. Im trying to vent out my frustration in the hopes that I might be able to enjoy the shreds of whats left of my great weekend I was hoping to have.

Going out
Tonight was a nice little night out. It was a work mates birthday. We went to The Diner a American burger bar kind if restaurant bar. I had s cheese burger and cheese fries.
The food was great, really good. It was nice seeing people from work and seeing people from different departments that I normally wouldn't bump into.
Tomorrow night me and a few cousins are going out for drinks and possibly a club if we're feeling up to it. People haven't really asked about tomorrow night, which I hope doesn't mean they're cancelling.
Fingers crossed tomorrow night is okay, will let you know all about it and takes lots of pictures.

Appraisal results
Today was my appraisal at work. It was my annual review and it went pretty well.
It was essentially an hour of my seniors telling me how happy they are that I'm there with them at work, and how well I'm doing and how much potential I have to go far in the business.
I'm so delighted that they feel that way and they do realise all the hard work I do, and it is appreciated. My new objectives were drawn up and in a few months will have a review of them to show that I have met my objectives and need new ones.
Overall it was a really good chance for me to talk about all the things I want to do and to hear how well I'm doing at work. They told me I'm on track for a promotion in the next few months and once a vacancy comes up that I should try and apply for it if I feel ready.
I'm really chuffed that they think so highly of me and they're really happy that they got me on their department.

Appraisal
It's that time where everyone gets appraised.
Bit of a weird thing to call it...I mean a performance reviews sounds a bit better than a appraisal, makes it soundlike were old antiques and their trying to work out how much we're worth.
ANyway, tonight I have to get an early night because I dont really want to turn up late to my own appraisal.
Goodnight and will update you on how my appraisal went.

Snow Everywhere
As promised here are some pictures of the snow.
As forecasted it's been snowing all weekend and there is quite a build up of snow.
Its reached ankle level now...which probably isn't much, but for London I have to admit that's pretty high.
I woke up and this is what my back garden looked like. It is a major improvement to the usual view, and bare trees frosted with snow makes it look beautiful.
The build up of snow is great, now I get to plan my winter outfit with all the accessories. I've got my mittens, bobble hat and knitted knee high socks.
Now I need to dig out my snow boots.

Nail art
Me and my hobby list just keeps on growing.
Now I'm really liking Nail art and nail gems.
I've always had a bit of a thing for nails. I have all the different colours under the sun in my nail kit. At one point I was really into growing them and manicuring them. I was really into glitter at one stage, and now I'm loving nail art and nail gems.
I've started building up a range of different nail pens, gems of all colours and shapes and even some metal studs to put on my nails.
Looking online I've found lots of inspiration. 'Boom nails' @boomnails.blogspot.com/ is amazing, she has great ideas and has managed to turn her hobby into a viable business. I would love to be as good as her. Right now I'm still new at designs so here's my first nail art design.

My New years resolution was to take more pictures, keeping my blog updated and getting a driving licence.
If I'm being completely honest with you my driving licence resolution isn't going well...I haven't read from my theory test book so that doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Thai food with a friend
Last Thursday I went out for thai food with a friend. The food is amazing, the have the freshest clamari, the tastiest spring rolls with a nice sweet chilli sauce.
We hadn't relised how much food we had ordered until it all arrived on our table. The food was great and the company was nice too. We caught up on all the things that were happening to us lately, had a little moan about how hard we work and the holiday time we're looking forward to.
dip.
We ended the night with a cup of lemon grass tea with coconut biscuits and honey

Snow Day
I told myself I wouldn't do this. But here we go.....It's snow day.
Everyone is going crazy about it snowing, it's like the world has stopped spinning and it's all fallen into chaos. Travel is an absolute hassle. I knew it was going to be a long day when half the train lines were with minor delays, but I wasn't expecting this.
The overground trains are already part suspended, the roads are slippery, not everywhere was ready for the snow and wasn't gritted. But I don't want to complain...I mean I did get a day off from it all.
The office closed at 12 and we we're all told to go home before the transport system closed and the sow got worse. My work place is a little bit on the edge of London and quite far out so the snow was getting pretty thick and started to settle really quickly.
I've sat down to a cup of creme brulee hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows, put my feet up and wrapped up nice and warm, while surfing the web.
Outside looks beautiful, everywhere it covered in a thin blanket of snow, there are still little clumps of snowflakes falling from the sky and giving the world a white haze. I'm sure tomorrow it will be even thicker since they are predicting it will snow through the weekend as well. My only worry is the build up of ice and hoping that it doesn't get too slippery.

My new calendar
My mum got me this calendar from the happy notes series.
It's absolutely perfect for me. It's a nice little pick me up for when I get into work and sit at my desk. So far they've all put a smile on my face.
Now I've decided to share my favourite ones. The one that I think is perfect for my blog today is....
Sometimes you need to get lost, so you can find yourself

Movie Night
Today has been a massive movie night. I've been a bit poorly for the last few days with a cold, so I've spent the weekend in bed nursing a hangover and a cold.

I've got my laptop and watching nothing but catching up on all the telly I've missed.

Today alone I've watched 'Anonymous', a great Shakespeare inspired conspiracy film, 'Fright Night' because I just can't get enough of Colin Farrell and vampires, 'Suits' season 1 catch up and 'Brave'because you need a little bit of animation and childish fun every once in a while.
Next on my list is 'Big Bang theory' catch up of the last season and considering watching the entire 'Fast and Furious' franchise.

Lovedough
It was a bit of a rocky ride trying to get everyone there.
There were a few last minute cancellations a few drop outs and a little argument while getting ready to leave.
But in the end we got there and there was a slow start but overall was a pretty good night. I've manahed to leave my phone in my cousins car, so at some point will need to get it back from her today, but something that did come out of this night was some nice photos. The night was kicked off with a few dance crews, which I must admit were pretty good. There was live art being drawn as you can see in the picture, and a nice mix of songs by the DJ on the night.
The plan is to try and organise another night where everyone can come, and a night where no one is working and everyones free.

First blog of 2013
I'm still finding it rather weird that it's 2013. I haven't quite got used to writing 2013. I had to write out the date the other day at work and it hit me...It's actually been a year, and it's 2013 already.
So I've finally decided what my new years resolution is...I'm going to learn how to drive and take more pictures.
I'm not quite sure what I'll do with allmy pictures. Whether I want to put them on my wall, upload them and make a digital mural. What I do know is that I'm going to keep my camera in my bag and having it with me at all times, and will actually take the time to work out all the features and the great things it can do.
Taking pictures all the time is the easy one...learning how to drive now that's a whole different story. This will be my second attempt at trying to learn. Last year I tried to learn and even got as far as taking my first driving lesson but that's as far as I went.
It's a bit complicated, but I have anxiety when it comes to driving. The only car I feel comfortable in is my dads car. There are numerous reasons, but mainly every other car I've been in has been in some sort of accident, fender bender or small scrapes. Now I'm always anxious when I'm in cars.
I've got the theory book so hopefully once I read that and pass that I might be a bit more confident when it comes to driving.
Here are a few of the pictures I've taken.
