A few more sketches

I'm glad to say it's been quite a good week, work hasn't been too bad, and I got the results for the 3 month test I told you all about....

I got 90%, which is great!!

I came 2nd in the class. The people in my department have noticed that I did well and I'm doing well at my job, something I hope will be reflected in my review at the end of the year.

This week has been pretty good and I've decided to end it with a nice lazy weekend of lounging around and doing very little.

So far I've spent most of the weekend asleep and in bed watching TV. I've tidied my room a bit, and organised my clothes, so my outfits for the rest of the week have been planned. I've also done a few sketches and doodles.

As always I'm undecided on the colours that I want them to be in,right now I'm working on trying to get the right shape of the female body and the curves I want to exenuate or in some cases alter.

Here they are...I hope you enjoy them.

Back to the drawing board

It's back to the drawing board. Recently my focus has been a bit more on cooking simply because I couldn't find my skecthpad. My fashion interest is still and I've been looking into it alot more.  I've found a few designers I like. My favourite so far is Alexander McQueen his style is edgy and he has soo much range in his collections, his outfits in each season vary soo much but still have the McQueen feel to it, that brings the collections together.

After a bit of research and practise I've decided I wanted to improve my drawing style and make it better. Once I looked up a few poses I've managed to draw my gowns differently in poses, which better suit the outfit and portrays it in the best light.

These outfits are a bit more long, elegant and flowing. I'm focusing more on softer curves and elegant line. My preference is exposed shoulders either with a sweatheart necklines, bustiers or asymetric off the shoulder tops. When I think of material my mind goes to royal blue silk for the dress on the right with pale blue chiffon for the long drapes. With the off the shoulder dress on the left I'm thinking silk or velvet with a possible side slit.

I feel like I can talk about the outfits in my head for hours, there are simple ones, over exaggerated couture dresses just for the runway shows.

There are a few bridal gowns that keep changing in my head. Now all that's left is to stick to it and get all my ideas onto paper and maybe even once day have come to life so I can show my ideas to everyone. For now these are the dresses that have been on my mind. The one on the left is a possible bridal dress that gives a nice silhouette and grace.

My first collection

Since my inspiration hit me all I can think about is dresses, all the different shapes, different cuts, different colours and styles.

I've gone out and topped up my art supplies. I went to the local stationary shop and topped up my arts supplies and picked up a few colouring pencils, some felt tip pens and another sketch pad. Luckily I still have lots of great quality sketching pencils, charcoal and pastels from my old art classes.

It's not exactly an amazing AW12 collection to be proud of but its a start.

The drawings are not exactly finished, I'm still undecided as to what colour the long elegant dress will be...I'm stuck between having the dress a deep purple or a navy.
