When people talked about a midlife crisis I never quite understood it. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm in my early twenties so I guess that means I'm having a quarterlife crisis... I'm trying to find my feet. I hope you'll follow me on my journey of self discovery...

Another dress
Here's thelatest dress in my sketch book.
I get the feeling that dresses is my thing.
I'm not a massive fan of shoes so I don't see myself drawing any shoes any time soon. So dresses is my thing.
I do favour evening gowns and bridal dresses and maybe if I enjoy this and manage to keep at it I might even create my own collection of gowns.
I'm thinking to stick with a pearly white for this gown, the darker material will be lace with diamonte on the bustier and spread out on top of the lace in certain areas. Not too sure what the colour of the lace in the hip will be but im favouring a very fair cream almost off white. Hope you like my sketch.

Procrastination
Procrastination. A great word that is so important and a vital part of my life.
I have to admit it is a word that best discribes my attitude to life.
I am the master of procrastination. Today is just about the prime example of a day of masterful procrastination.
My room has been an absolute mess/bombsite for the last month and I've been putting it off for the weekend numerous times to no avail. This week has been no different. Instead of tidy my room, I have sat on the sofa, stuffed my face, watched 3 films and countless telly episodes, this is my second post of the day, I have painted my nails, straightened my hair and done a bit of online shopping too. My room remains the same state.
Procrastination is an art form and I've got it down to a T

Baking
Great British Bake off...I thought I'd catch a little bit of telly before I start the massive clear out. So I turn on the telly and find the Great British Bake-off. I've heard good things about it but never took the time to watch it.
Woow I love the bake off. The technical challenges are great to watch, because lets be honest when theres cooking involved there's always the chance for it all to go wrong. The best bit though has to be when they manage to pull it in last minute and sometimes create the best cake/pie/tart even though everything that could go wrong - did.
I already have my favourite contestant and I've only watched one episode. So as you can already guess there's a good chance I'm going to catch up on all the episodes I've missed and have this be my sunday morning breakfast telly.

Dopey
Dopey
dop·ey also dop·y (d p ). adj. dop·i·er, dop·i·est Slang. 1. Dazed or lethargic, as if drugged. 2. Stupid; doltish: a dopey kid. 3. Silly; foolish.
That is just about the best word to describe me right now. Here I am trying to work out if tomorrow I should go to London Fashion Weekend or if I should stay at home and clear out my closet for autumn. So I decide actually I'd rathernot miss london fashion weekend and go online to get my ticket. So I take a l closer look and guess what I realise......Fashion weekend is next week.
I feel soo ditsy right now. I guess a good thing came out of it. I know I'm going to be spending tomorrowim my room clearing out my wardrobe and making space for all the great shopping I'm going to be doing.
I would do a before and after picture of my room....but trust me I don't think you guys will ever look at me the same way.....its that bad.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

London Fashion Weekend
The olympics are over, the paralympics have finished and now the next thing to look forward to is London Fashion Weekend!!
London fashion weekend started on friday and now it's in full swing. I've had a look around online and there are still a few tickets left so I might jump in and get some.
Luckily there are still tickets for shopping and the 2.30 trends catwalk show...I'm in two minds as to whether I should go or not. It's too late notice to get my friends to come along with me and not to mention the tickets might be a bit steap. So I get the feeling I'm going to invite my mum. She's dying to spend time with me and she loves shopping and dresses, so I'm sure she'll enjoy it and appreciate the clothes on show.
If I finally make up my mind and decide to go I will most definately upload all the pictures and keep you updated on how it went.

My first collection
Since my inspiration hit me all I can think about is dresses, all the different shapes, different cuts, different colours and styles.
I've gone out and topped up my art supplies. I went to the local stationary shop and topped up my arts supplies and picked up a few colouring pencils, some felt tip pens and another sketch pad. Luckily I still have lots of great quality sketching pencils, charcoal and pastels from my old art classes.
It's not exactly an amazing AW12 collection to be proud of but its a start.

Inspired
Every day on the way to work I'm bombarded with a collection of free newspapers and magazines at the train station.
The weekly glossies are the ones that grab my attention much more than the dull black and white newspapers. Today's glossy, was Stylist.
It's a great fashion magazine thats been keeping me updated on the latest trends in the fashion world as well as a nice overview of whats going on around the world. There are great pieces that are well written and worth reading. Today's copy was the A/W 12 Fashion edition. I'm not going to lie, normally I only do a quick scan and check out the pictures not really stopping focusing read any of the articles. But today I decided I might as well have a read and was pleasantly surprised and inspired.
One of the trends that has been predominant this season is Gothic. I've always liked velvets and lace, blood reds and deep purples. There's something strangely elegant about it all. When I think gothic I think roses and it inspired me to try my hand at designing evening dresses that I would love to one day create, since right now lace is easy to come by and in regular supply in all different styles and variations it the best time to take advantage of it all.
Luckily an interest in clothes it runs in my family. My grandmother is a seamstress and so is my mother so I've got majority of the tools and a little bit of the skills to create an outfit. It would take me alot of planning to get the cut and the shape just right but if I work hard I think I should be to tailor a dress.
So now I've found myself an interest and maybe even a hobby, hopefully I will stick to it and maybe even make something of it.
